Privacy Policy

Scraps ("we", "our", or "the app") is a social card game for iOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to run the game:

• Anonymous device ID — a randomly generated identifier stored locally on your device. It is never linked to your name, email, or any personal account.
• Nickname — an optional display name you choose when creating or joining a shared pack. You can use any nickname you like, including a made-up one.
• Cards you add to shared packs — the text content of cards you add to a shared game session.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
• We do not require account registration or sign-in.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to third parties.
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone.

3. How We Use Your Information

The data collected is used solely to:

• Allow multiple players to join a shared pack session in real time.
• Display your chosen nickname to other players in the same session.
• Attribute cards in a shared pack to the player who added them.

4. Data Storage & Third-Party Services

Shared pack sessions are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud database service. Session data (pack name, cards, member nicknames) is stored temporarily and is not permanently retained after sessions end. Firebase's own privacy policy applies: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

All other game data (language preference, anonymous ID) is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and never transmitted to a server.

5. Children's Privacy

Scraps is a family-friendly game suitable for players of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No account, email, or personal data is required to play.

6. Data Retention

Shared pack data in Firebase is not automatically deleted. If you would like your session data removed, please contact us at the email below and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request deletion of any data associated with your session.
• Know what data we hold related to your anonymous device ID.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
